Description:
New Wooloowin is a proposal for a practical, self sufficient community designed as a means to deal with climate change impacts. The scenario I adopted was one in which changing community values leads to a change in social hierarchy and evolution. The project proposes first a change in values, both of individuals and the Wooloowin community as a whole. As the timeline progresses community values begin to change; material assets becomes less valuable while assets such as access to clean air, water and food are highly valued. The community then begins to band together and work as a collective towards a common goal; to provide ample water and food for their community to survive. Land is a valuable asset which now belongs to the community, backyards no longer exist and instead verandas become private space. All available land is used for food production and water storage and capture.
